A New Era

can we all just face the facts and realize that blogging is not easy for us all. I had to take out the time and think about what is it that I want to accomplish from blogging. I came up 3 things. The number one thing is to have a place to vent and reflect back after a while, I can remember feeling that I was making a new start when I bought a new notebook and thinking that I will have a great time feeling up the pages. The second thing that I feel I wanted to accomplish is having an online store right on my blog selling items that cost exactly a dollar including postage. I don't think that it is feasible for me to do this because I have to consider that for each item I place in my store the dollar has to cover paypal fees as well as shipping and handling. The third thing is that I want to have fun with it. I don't want to make or sell something that I don't feel really good about. I really don't know how this is going to go but my goal for this month is to open shop.

Cloudy blue pendant

Cloudy blue pendant
Originally uploaded by Mslovesrain

As promised here is the pendant that I made to go with my Cumulus Cloud earrings. I placed a bicone crystal with a sterling silver bead, and an antiqued silver flower to compliment the silver foiled glass bead. The largest bead is about 22mm. I get such great joy making jewelry and watching people wear my creations. Next I will try to make something with some colored cord I bought. Look for it and leave a comment to let me know who you are. It's not like i am fishing for comments but I do have a site meter and I know people are visiting my blog.

Actually I have a lot of nerve, but I have to ask you to stop lurking and leave a comment. I can't believe that I am posting this after years of lurking. Just recently this year to be exact I started leaving comments on blogs that I visited. It makes sense to me to leave some sort of comment to the blogger who takes out time to share a part of their life with the public. Just a thought that i wanted to put out there. Take care and leave a comment...(no pressure) :) !

I know that sounds strange but my grandma called this dessert a tart. anyway I went on Flickr and I decided to find images of clafoutis and then I went to bighugelabs and made a mosaic. I just want to remember to make this and hopeful my family or friend will keep asking me if I made it yet and eventually I will.

I can remember using this. You see I went to a Vocational High School in Chicago. Charles Allen Prosser to be exact and I took wood shop, machine shop, body shop, typing and print shop. It was way fun and I learned many techniques and I would be thinking when I was in these classes where will I use this. I am glad I chose that school I was able to learn in many industrial fields. I remember attaching my plate and watching my letter pressed scratch pad come to life. It was fun. I can't remember my shop teacher though and I don't have my yearbook. I believe we called him Mr. P and my graphic arts teacher name was Mr. K.

A ladder shelf from Marie Claire Idees

Marie Claire Idees, originally uploaded by Willow Tree.

Isn't this shelf awesome, I am searching high and low for old step ladders, I just might have to make this one from scratch.

Isn't it beautiful. I believe it will paint mines blue, then later maybe white.

Grandmother's Flower Garden

Heather Bailey started on a quilt I would love to start, I have the template for this pattern in my Readers Digest Complete Guide to Needlework. That book is awesome, I bought it once Amanda from Soulemama blogged about it on her blog. Of course I got it on Amazon for less than a dollar used plus 3.99 for shipping and handling. This is the best book to buy someone if they don't already have it. I love that book!

Weave-It

Weave-It, originally uploaded by n.gottier.

Wow, I just love this little weave, thing-a-ma-jig!

Follow the link for more info about this wonderful vintage Weave-it that was found in a thrift store for 99 cents.

Maybe I can make one with wood and some very small dowels or nails. And maybe I can coat the nails with some kind of protectant so it wont get snagged.

Another great find for a dollar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vintage Tea House

Vintage Tea House, originally uploaded by namolio.

This is a photo from my swap partner Namolio. I got it while browsing through her photos. It was taken with a mobile phone camera. Nice, isn't it. I must ask what type of camera phone takes a good picture like this!.

Anyway enough of my incessant ramblings.

Pink and green goodness. I love the teapot, the tea cup and saucer and the pink and green polka dots. Lovely, Lovely, Lovely.

I would be so relaxed, sipping tea in a cute dainty cup, with a linen napkin in my lap. Let's not forget yummy biscuits sprinkled with vanilla sugar. Or a simple yellow cupcake with orange scented vanilla frosting.

Ciao!
